Savvy Chic Bags began in the fall of 2008 as the brainchild of best friends Denise Moore and Denise Beasley.  We initially started the business as an online venture and our goal was to specialize in unique, trendy, quality handbags and accessories--but at prices to fit any budget. 

Eventually we decided that although our bags looked great on the website, it still did not compare to seeing them in person, so we began a quest to find a retail space for Savvy Chic Bags to open as a brick and mortar store.

An in-depth Craigslist search led us to an absolutely perfect space on Ellsworth Ave. in Pittsburgh's upscale Shadyside shopping district; the space formerly housed Bella Arte Gallery and it was perfectly suited for an accessories boutique, and it was exactly what we were looking for! 

At our location in Shadyside, we still preserved our mission to offer beautiful, quality handbags at modest prices.  In fact, our slogan was "Shadyside's Affordable Alternative to High-Priced Fashion Accessories."  No matter what your budget, at Savvy Chic Bags we have something for everyone!

A beautiful retail spot and incredible merchandise aside, Savvy Chic Bags became yet another victim of our very uncertain economy and we closed our Ellsworth Avenue doors on May 31, 2010.  Closing our beautiful store was one of the most difficult things we have ever had to do, but unfortunately the timing was not right for a physical location at this time. 

But don't worry, Savvy Chic Bags continues to offer beautiful handbags and accessories as usual via our website, and we will continue to hold purse parties; and you will even find us at various vendor events, just as before. 

We still carry the same types of affordable handbags, jewelry, wraps, hats, scarves, and various misc. accessories, and we even carry Steelers and Penguins handbags!
